Whiteland Montessori School Mission Statement
Our mission at Whiteland Montessori School is to welcome the child into a warm, relaxed, and nurturing environment.
We offer the prepared Montessori program which inspires self awareness, curiosity, confidence, and independence. In turn, children develop a love of learning and the necessary skills that will prepare them for the world around them.
5 Key Learning Areas
Practical Life – skills develop independence, self control, coordination, self awareness and confidence. Area focuses on food preparation, dressing frames, gardening, greetings, manners and refines movement and balance.
Sensorial – allows each child to refine their senses of sight, touch, smell, taste, and sound. Pink tower and brown stairs refine motor skills.
Language – based on phonetic awareness. Hands-on tactile movement, sandpaper letters, and moveable alphabet.
Math – developed with the use of concrete materials. Number rods, sandpaper numbers, number boards, bead cabinet. Child moves from the concrete to the abstract.
Art and Music – run in all areas of the classroom.
